Appointments

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

We do accept walk-ins, but we highly recommend booking in advance to reduce your wait time. You can request an appointment online or call us at 713-981-5166.

Do you offer same-day appointments?

Yes, when available. Call either clinic in the morning for the best chance at a same-day visit.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Please bring a photo ID, a list of current medications and allergies, and any recent records or test results. For children, please bring immunization records.

How do I cancel or reschedule?

Please call us at least 24 hours before your appointment so we can offer the time to another patient. See our Appointment, Cancellation & Payment Policy.

How do I request my medical records?

Contact our office to request a records release form. We respond to records requests as required by federal and Texas law. Please do not send medical information through our website contact form.

Fees & Payment

Does AMMG accept health insurance?

No. AMMG is a self-pay practice. We do not bill or accept health insurance, and we never base your care on insurance coverage. See Fees & Payment.

How much will my visit cost?

Ask about pricing when you schedule. You will receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before your visit, so there are no surprises.

When is payment due?

Payment is due at check-in for each visit or service. We accept most major payment methods.

Can I get a receipt for reimbursement?

Yes. We can provide an itemized receipt (superbill) on request, which you may submit to a health plan, HSA, or FSA on your own. Reimbursement is not guaranteed.

Mental Health

Do I need a referral to see your mental health team?

No. You can request an evaluation directly — no referral needed. Call us or request an appointment online.

Is mental health care confidential?

Yes. Your mental health information is protected by federal and Texas privacy laws, and we share it only as permitted by law or with your written permission. There are limited exceptions, such as when someone’s safety is at serious risk.

What should I do in a mental health crisis?

Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Do not wait for an appointment.

Do you treat children and teens?

Yes. We provide mental health care for children and adolescents, working closely with parents and, when appropriate, schools.

Telehealth

Can I see a provider by video?

Yes. Telehealth visits are available by appointment for many concerns, including follow-ups, medication management, and mental health care. Choose “Telehealth” when you request an appointment.

What do I need for a telehealth visit?

A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone; a reliable internet connection; and a private space. You must be physically located in Texas during your visit.
